Chamber musician, soloist, improviser and orchestral musician, Laurence is pursuing performance studies in horn at Conservatoire de musique de Montréal under the tutelage of Jean Gaudreault and John Milner since 2002. She received scholarships from the Fondation Wilfrid Pelletier, the Fondation McAbbie, the Concours Solistes et petits ensembles of the Festival de musique classique du Bas-Richelieu and the Canadian Music Competition, and won first prizes in solo and chamber music competition from different competitions. Her love of challenges and her desire to acquire new knowledge lead her to perfectionate her playing by attending master classes and summer sessions at the National Arts Center, the Orford Arts Center and the Domaine forget. She also took part of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada 2006 season and the National Academy Orchestra 2008 season. Since 2007, she played as a soloist with the Conservatoire symphony orchestra and wind ensemble and played Robert Schumann’s Konzertstück for four horn with the Philharmonie jeunesse de Montréal. As an active freelancer on the Montreal music scene and an inspired teacher, Laurence earned a chamber music graduate degree from the Conservatoire in April 2009 and will do her graduation master recital in April 2011. She is currently studying at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, Germany.
